SolarLab is located in Århus, Denmark on Kvædevej 4. SolarLab is rated 3 out of 5 in the category building materials in Denmark. SolarLab wants to be part of the solution and have developed an energy producing facade system that makes it easy and affordable to realize a net-zero building, or just improve a buildings footprint as part of an energy renewal and facelift project, without compromising its architectural qualities. Our custom designed solutions provide both best-in-class energy production and the necessary design freedom to integrate BIPV in any architecture by hiding the complexity and using high quality materials. The facade is maintenance free and long lasting. Working closely with architects, contractors and owners to realize their vision and eliminate any perceived risks early on in the project by providing the freedom to creatively use color, texture, shape, size and mounting geometry as well as test these in full size mock-ups and prototypes to realize forward thinking and sustainable architecture. Produced entirely in Europe and using renewable energy from wind, sun and hydro our facades have a very small environmental footprint and can recoup the environmental investment in just a few years and as the only building material that has a return on the investment it will repay the cost of the system many times over in its 50 to 80 year lifespan. Projects like the Copenhagen International Schools with its 1200 custom BIPV panels where SolarLab designed, produced and installed the system that to the this day is one of the worlds largest building integrated photo voltaic installation as well as the many other large projects in Norway, Sweden, Denmark and Holland proves that the system works, is easy to install, cost effective and beautiful as well as flexible enough to integrate in a wide range of architectural languages.
