Ruby Reviews | Rating 4.6 out of 5 stars (8 reviews)

Ruby is located in København, Denmark on Nybrogade 10. Ruby is rated 4.6 out of 5 in the category bar in Denmark. Ruby opened in 2007 and has been one of the best cocktail bars in the city for over a century now. Placed in an old townhouse from 1740, Ruby is the first drink spot of the night in Copenhagen. \n\nruby_doorLike most good things in life we are not easily accessible. ‘All good journeys start with a leap into the unknown’ Paul Theroux said, and we couldn’t agree more. Ruby is placed in an old townhouse from 1740 in the oldest part of town, facing the parliament buildings and Thorvaldsens museum. The building has been used for many purposes during the years; everything from a book press to private bank and even part of the cultural ministry. Most important to our history is the fact that the Danish Spirit Producers (Det Danske Spiritus Kompagni) was founded in these rooms in 1882 and formed it selves here with Tietgen, Christian Oleson and Isidor Henenius as the founding fathers. That makes it even more natural for us to serve the best possible cocktails from this address at Nybrogade. The area where we preside today was back in the 17 century known for dive bars where fishermen and farmers spend a little of their hard earned money on a dram. Ruby opened its doors on the 21st June in 2007 on Nybrogade 10. We have since then become an institution in the Danish cocktail industry and has been rewarded with several international nomination and credits. At Ruby we strive to give the guests an experience with great cocktails in a timeless atmosphere. We hope to help you forget everything else other than your friends, colleagues, cocktails and happy thoughts. That is what you deserve.\n,Ruby opened in 2007 and has been one of the best cocktail bars in the city for over a century now. Used to be my fav hangout in Cph. Went there yesterday for the first time after lockdown. Great expectations. Cocktails were super small with way to much ice cubes, snacks were tiny and overpriced (8 olives, 30 kr, 18 cashews 30 kr), music was loud and boring, atmosphere was missing. Sad experience.

This may sound like inflated language, but visiting this bar in Copenhagen was one of the highlights of our Scandinavian excursion. The cocktails are fantastic and inventive, but it was the atmosphere that made this place such a wonderful experience. The bar staff were jovial and interactive and happy to share their knowledge about spirits and cocktails. And just as important, the other patrons of the bar were incredibly nice people from all over the world. Maybe we just happened to be lucky that evening in terms of who our fellow bar patrons were, but it was a good sign that this is a well respected establishment!

The cocktails are incredible, by far the best I had in Copenhaguen! The ambience is super cozy and casual/semi-formal. The staff is international, friendly and welcoming! If you are around Copenhagen, you should DEFINITELY check this place out. If you are a fan of craftsman cocktails with good recipes and good ingredients, this is the place for you!

Nice, it almost felt like being abroad :) 120kr for a cocktail?!! Still, ambience was cozy-cool, great choice of Aesop handsoap and cream in the bathrooms.

Very nice, moody and cozy place. The cocktails are amazing and the service is right on point. It's better to make a reservation if you want to make sure to have a nice place to sit.

My wife and I tried a few different cocktails at this marvelous cocktail bar and each one was mind blowing good! A very friendly man met us as we entered, found us a table and went through their signature drinks with us. He was very attentive and we never had to wait for our drink order to be taken. Best Old Fashion I've ever had! Ever! Plus the view is pretty awesome too!

We had read about this speakeasy before arriving, and it was the perfect spot to grab a drink (or two) before dinner! The atmosphere is certainly "hygge," and the drinks were delightful. We went on a Monday night, and there were quite a few people, so you may need a reservation for a weekend.
