Beautiful but way too crowded. I reserved it for our scout troop only to arrive and find 7 different tents already there and refusing to move despite my having reservations for our girls. Disgraceful and rude.
A truly wonderful place. A must visit if you want to experience the beauty of danish forests
Nice little resting place right next to the lake.
Nice picnic spot with lots of space in the Gribskov woods right next to Esrum lake. There are at least 3 fire places with grills & fire wood supplied by the state, a landing stage with steps and large covered shelter hidden in the trees at the Northern end. Accessible by bike or on foot, following the gravel road from the North End of the lake or coming from the South entering the woods close to the Skov school. Camping at this point is not allowed, not that it stops anyone.....official camping spots exist at other spots around the lake also with grills and free fire wood. Driving to this point is not allowed, but nobody will get into trouble if you just want to get an older relative/friend to this spot easily. There can sometimes be migrant workers from Eastern Europe camping out here in the beginning of the season, before these tradesmen have found propper lodging.
