The purpose of the Partnership for Wave Energy is to work for the development of wave energy through industrial partnerships. This means working for the implementation of the strategy such as to stimulate and contribute to the establishment of projects and cooperation in accordance with the prioritized development and cooperation areas. The development of particularly wave energy devices, has already taken a continuous and long-term effort within the Danish R&D. Over several decades Denmark have achieved to have a number of developers working on real sea testing of devices, even if this has been in small scale. The Danish Partnership for Wave Power help bring these individual achievements into a broader and more long term development. The expectations to how fast wave energy will mature largely depend on the technology available, the effort placed into it and the funding and policy behind to support the developments.
