Great little restaurant full of character inside. Staff were really friendly, attentive and helpful in explaining the best way to eat the dishes. The pork crackling was exceptionally good. Hand sanitizers were provided at each table.

A fabulous little restaurant. Built in 1720 makes it the oldest restaurant in Copenhagen. Food from the good old days the services was great.
Excellent service, friendly and timely. The menu is basically traditional Danish, and quite extensive. Portion control is *very* generous, and the pricing is surprisingly good for this part of town. Very popular indeed for lunch, so booking is essential, but for dinner, you can probably get away without booking Monday through Thursday, but I would advise booking ahead for Friday/Saturday. The kitchen opens for dinner at 5.30 sharp, but you can easily go in earlier and have a drink while you wait for the cooks to fire everything up. A small but well stocked bar, including a few very well chosen local beers. Quite historic, very cozy basement restaurant.
I love this restaurant. Very simple and delicious food. It’s founded in 1720 which made it very old and the food seems to be authentic. I give my best to eat everything, but just it is too much for single person, so be aware. Definitely I will go again
Great place to eat traditional danish meals. Cozy old architecture and a super friendly staff. A must try but usually very busy during weekends. They do take reservations.
Very good food, very nice traditonal Ambiente, prices are okay! Recommendable!
So much food! We had the deluxe lunch platter for two people. It was a lot of food but really tasty. Pickled herring, meatballs, fried fish, pork chops, and liver pie. The food came out quickly, and the staff was super friendly.
The place may be a bit touristy, I doubt many locals know or care about it. At first the menu looked a bit overpriced and we felt like we made a mistake. But then we tasted the herring dish and all was forgotten and forgiven. That, along with the remoulade, was so delicious I felt they deserve the four stars. The fifth star is missing because they charge for tap water (though apparently common in Copenhagen) and because I was pretty much forced to order a dish for myself when I had only intended to share one with my partner.
