We were quite satisfied with the food and very satisfied with the local beer. Very big portions. Because we have some allergies, they changed the meals so that they were perfect for us. In many restaurants they only leave off the things we are not aloud to eat, here they added something else to replace for example peas in our portions. The fries were a bit too salty for my wife's taste and part of the salt had spread on her schnitzel also when finishing the portion. We had to wait quite a long time for the main courses (we started with a mixed salad) which is the main reason to give only 4 stars.

Really bad service. We have waited for over an hour. The food was one of the baddest that I ever eat. We had an vegetarian with us. He had a sparge soup. On the menu nobody wrote that there are meatballs inside. It was a whole disappointment for huge money.

Restaurant Backhaus in Ribe is the worst I ever tried. Everything was straight out of the freezer, the potatoes were worse than the ones from the cantine at school when I was a kid, and even the french fries were terrible (My daughter also noticed that the more fried they were, the worse the taste, probably due to friture oil way too old). When they arrived with the banana split, which was just a banana in two pieces on an ordinary plate, with a block of vanilla ice cream that tasted of frozen water in the middle, it was too much for me to stay calm (my son was also surprised and said it did not look like a banana split). I delivered personally the 72 Kr a piece disgusting banana splits back to the kitchen and told them what I thought of their food, using a few French words along the way... The most insane thing is that this restaurant was packed with locals, and it seemed that the only thing they were unsatisfied about was the service (yes, it was bad too, because they obviously had too few people doing service). It is obviously a very good business for the owners of the restaurant since we paid 1200 Kr for food that was worth about 100. Never felt cheated like that in the restaurant before, not even that time in Paris I got sick from a salmon pie...
