Fantastic little sandwich shop that has been around Islands Brygge for 25 years according to the signage! I can see why it's stayed so long. The owners are super friendly and really helpful.. even when your Danish is really not that great (non existent in my case). I was recommended an Apple and Herring Smørrebrød (Danish open faced sandwich) and also had a potato and fried onion one. Both were delicious and far more filling than I anticipated. I was really hoping to try a few more. They also make normal sandwiches and they have a little table to sit at if you want to eat in or everything you buy can be packed to take with you. An awesome little local place that gives you a real idea of down to earth Danish Smørrebrød and friendliness!

My first time with open faced sandwiches also included Danish friendliness. What I had: meatball sandwich with potato salad on top. 14DKK. Pros: fluent English speaking. Very smiley and took time to tell me about each sandwich so that I could make an informed selection. Ingredients on top looked fresh. Cons: Maybe I’m not cut out to be Danish. My first open sandwich wasn’t my taste. Meatball was a little cold, though I did make this order an hour before it closed.
Excellent in every way.
Great sandwiches and authentic service. Very fair prices as well. There can be a line around lunchtime, but worth the wait!
