Le Poêlon D'or is a cozy little place that seems to be struggling during the Covid-19 crisis. At least they offered 50% off the whole shebang. We got the menu with a starter plate of mixed inventions by the kitchen. They use root vegetables and berries to good effect, creating colourful and interesting sauces. The starter dish is a bit like a tapas plate but also with a pumpkin soup and other treats. We have three choices for the main course: fish, lamb or beef tenderloin. We tried the first two, which were both really good with the notable exception that the risotto for the fish was too salty. They are advertised as a cocktail bar and restaurant, so I was disappointed to learn that they only offered four different cocktails, and the waiter didn't seem to know them very well. We went for them, and they were okay, I've surely had better. But with 50% off, this was still good value for money, so I had two. Le Poêlon D'or is worth a visit and I hope they make it through the crisis. There is also room for improvement, though.

Consumed the nine course meal deal via the dealsite sweet deal with two friends. The courses were very small and some were not heated very well. Of the nine, a few courses were decent. One was excellent. The waitress decided to embarass our host by coming over and staying that the codes he had purchased on the deal site were not valid. He had not wanted us to know that this was a package, and this made him feel bad. There was, of course, no problem with the codes. Furthermore, the seating arrangement was uncomfortable. Five tables worth of people were crammed into the small room in the top, with the whole bottom floor being available and unused. This became an issue when the waitress asked us to keep our cheerful mood down because some older guests at a neighboring table (not so many options) had complained to her, rather than just asking us themselves. I wouldn't go there again, there are just so many other good food options available without all this hassle.

Food was okay, but everything else was terrible. The whole thing took 3 hours which is unacceptably long. The server forgot out table and we waited for at least an hour for our main dish. Then when it was time to pay they couldn't take credit card, which would have been nice to know before. Would not recommend.

Tried their lunch platter, which was very good, and a nice alternative to a classic Danish lunch.

Had booked 8 course menu. Yes, it was a bit of a surprise to have the first 6 courses all on one plate, but they tasted nice. Main course you could choose between 3, and OMG, Really good lamb!! 4 stars, because the dessert was not well balanced. It was way too much chocolate, and when you already put raspberries on the menu, then I expect more than 2. It would have been amazing with raspberries in every bite there... It was still a nice experience and we had a good time :)

Fabulously dinner, it is French cuisine when it is best. Absolutely one of the best restaurants in town. Next time we will take our children and children in law, so they can experience this perfection.
