Great authentic danish food. I highly recommend the Christmas plates.

Highly recommend this restaurant! We just happened to walk past it while looking for more traditional Danish food and decided to stop and eat there. We got the Danish meatballs, soup of the day, and herring open faced sandwich. They were all delicious! The staff was very friendly and patient with us while we decided what we wanted to eat. They were eager to help us with anything and made the entire experience great.

Something Danish. We found the place by accident with 11-year-old, Who loved the wienerschnitzel. Tried house specialty myself. Very nice. The walls were decorated with old and new pictures of the royal family, among other local things... And a little smoking crocodile(?!!)

Recommendation from a local friend. Very good food experience; fresh products, not too big of a menu. The place I would say is not baby friendly (no baby chair), it's kind of narrow. Price is fair for the city : I paid 65 for three persons (3 meals, 3 drinks'). It's better to book; I had early dinner and it was empty.

Just go. Unless you dislike good, fun food and drink, you'll have a ball.

We have dined at the Københavner Caféen around 18:30, it was quiet and we enjoyed a little more than an hour inside. The soul of the day was asparagus and it was a creamy hot deliciousness! Than we had the meatballs and minced meat with potatoes, pickles, onion and a thick and savory gravy that I almost drank by itself (I’m a gravy fan)! We drank some red beer on the tap (I cannot remember the name) that was light with a caramel touch. Finally I had a shot of homemade aquavit (they have lots of flavors): really smooth!

Without a doubt - One of the best Danish restaurants in Copenhagen! Their \Tarteletter\ are the best I have ever had.. Normally not a big fan of \Tarteletter\, but that has changed thanks to Københavner Caféen - thanks for that! Magnificent service as well.. What's not to like?

Luckily I was in town on a layover the night they had the fried pork special, a traditional local dish. And it was every bit as good as described to me! The mustard and parsley sauce were great compliments to the salty and super crispy pieces of pork. Server was very friendly and accommodating. Nice quaint seating available outside for 2 per table and of course full dining inside. Will be recommending and returning on my next layover.
