It was interesting to see the rooms and studies of the royals, completely filled floor to ceiling with framed photos, pipes, books, and knickknacks galore! It was a hoot - is this really how they lived, or did they just fill the rooms with all their possessions at once? Only when the rooms were bare, could we walk freely without being behind the glass. Anyway, it was entertaining and I had a good time - I would say this is a must-do in Copenhagen! (I visited in August 2019.)

Amalienborg is the home of royal Danish family. It consists of four identical classical palace facades with rococo interiors around an octagonal courtyard. In the center there is a equestrian statue of Amalienborg founder King Frederick 5. In center Frederik’s church is visible. It is 18th century Lutheran church with the largest dome in scandinavia

Watching the changing of the guard is nice if you like the ceremony and there's a bit of music, but mostly they're just going about their jobs. It's worth seeing but not worth waiting around for if the weather is bad. As for the buildings, they're worth a small detour to see - you can also see the garden and other views - but this castle is still in use so don't expect to see inside.

The Queen’s winter residence consists of 4 mansions , all in rococo style, made in the 1750’s and in the middle of the square a statue of King Frederik V, made by the French sculptor Saly in 1767, regarded as one of the finest equestian statues in the world. When the Queen is in residence, there is a changing of the guard with music every day at noon.

Residence of the royal family. Nice, large square, surrounded by 4 beautiful buildings. All protected by the royal lifeguard. Absolutely must-see og you visit Copenhagen!

Here lives the Queen of Danmark, an archaic left over from times when the 1% did not hide their wealth. Evert taxpayer in Danmark Pays to her and her familys upkeep. We need a proper revolution..unfortunately it will never happen in Danmark as it is alias too close to dinnertime..
