I’ve been living here for 2 years and I can’t recommend a better place for a student to live. Location: doesn’t get better than this. Basecamp is located in the heart of Copenhagen, walking distance to old town area, many museums, bars as well as grocery stores. The building: historical and outstanding. The view from the windows is beautiful from every part of it. The ceiling is high, which makes the rooms spacious and full of light. Common areas and community life: there is a gym open 24/7, 3 common kitchens and a few common spaces to study/hangout with friends/ party. Each month there are events organized where I continue to meet other international students! Last but not least - friendly and responsive administration. There is no queue for the booking (in a contrary to other student dorms in Cph), so you can just contact them and see if they have anything available. There are 2 managers in the office during the week, that are always willing to help. Highly recommend!

I've never lived in a better student dormitory, it has everything a domestic or international student would want. A sense of community, planned events, a great atmosphere and location... there seems to be a lot of negative reviews about issues with administration, but they are not related to actual BaseCamp administration but third party providers and housing. If you are a student in search of housing, come see the location and meet the administration yourself. You will be pleasantly surprised!

Great experience, nice staff, cool amenities.. the location is also perfect in the middle of CPH, close to transport and universities.

To sum up: You can get a much better place for far less. The good: - Decent, free of charge, in-complex gym and study rooms. - Someone able to assist with issues 24/7 (like being locked out). - Central location. - Party rooms in the basement mean little noise in the living quarters. The ugly: - Significantly overpriced based on the poor quality and size of the rooms. Don't get fooled by the advertisements. - Abysmal state of the kitchens. Ovens and microwaves have years of food residue sitting in them and were never properly cleaned the two years I stayed there. - Overpriced washing machines without the option of using anything but the provided no-scent detergent. Driers cost extra. - Expect to pay much more than the advertised rent utilities. Seems that tenants share part of the total bill of heating the building (separately from their own bills), which is usually paid yearly. As such, even if not using heating at all you could still be paying huge bills.

Been here for more than 2 years and cannot begin to encapsulate the amazing journey it has been here. From the 1st pumpkin carvings, to the cycling events, or gaining back the calories at the dinner clubs, Basecamp has been one of the most ideal and lively places to live in Copenhagen as a international Masters student. I cannot begin to recommend this place for every international who is coming to this rainy wonderland, especially if they want to make a thriving social circle, or want to enjoy the rainy day coffee overlooking the King's garden every day while constructing their career.

Please avoid this place! I lived at Basecamp for 6 months and had a really bad experience. Although, Basecamp is located at the very centre of Copenhagen, the building and the staff are absolutely horrible. The common rooms and corridors were constantly dirty, people were throwing their trash around and even vomiting, and no one would take care of cleaning. Since the doors of the building are always open, strangers can just get in at any time. Which means that many people got their stuff stolen in the storage rooms, I have also seen random people walking around the building and trying to open doors, which really does not give a sense of safety. I know that many people have tried to address this issue to the staff, but it seems like people keep getting their belongings stolen. Lastly, the staff will also take every opportunity to request money. I was sent a bill more than a year after I moved out, because I apparently exceeded the water and electricity consumption, when I asked them for more information about this supposed overconsumption, the staff decided to ignore my e-mail and to threaten me right away with the fact that they may send my bill to a debt-collector, extremely dishonest!

I would recommend NOT to book this place for the following reasons: 1. Extremely EXPENSIVE for what you get. After paying a really high rent (to which you have to add 500dkk for utilities), they asked me to pay after 6 months almost 600dkk extra for the utilities used in the COMMON areas. They also require you to pay a full month of rent and utilities for the last month you spend there, although you MUST leave in the middle of the month. 2. DIRTY. The day I arrived, I immediately sent an email regarding the hygiene of my mattress, which was in terrible conditions. The common areas are in poor condition. In the corridor it was common to have stains and dirt, the kitchen was always dirty and oily, as well as the tables in the rooftop. Besides the really nice location there is nothing worth the price.
