Very interesting place where you can see how the Danes lived in the past. There are a lot of houses and farms, also some farm animals - cows, horses, goats, sheep, etc. The place is huge but it is very interesting and offers great walks like if you are really in the countryside. It is popular place for the little children. It would have been better if there was more information or people telling more about the differerent houses or demonstrating what life was.

Very charming and a beautiful set up of the old country houses. A little bit more information about the different houses would be appreciated! Maybe stories about how there daily life could have been.

There are themed programs during summer holiday so the museum is busier than usual during our visit but the area is big so it's not so much of a problem (during corona time). We ate our lunch at one of the many picnic tables, watched a couple of shows, played at the play areas, bought ice cream and coffee from century old \convenient store\, had a taste of butter cookies from 1910 farm house's kitchen lady (volunteers dressed in old days attire), fed goat, saw happy piglets and their mother roaming in a field, tasted sour unripened apple & blackberry, and visited many different buildings from different era. For parents with small children, a pull trolley (can be rented at the museum) is really useful for those little tired legs. Food and drink at the museum is somewhat cheaper compare to other attractions in Copenhagen, support the museum if you can. Culture, history, plenty of areas for the kids to roam around in nature, and we visited on a good weather day, it can only be 5 stars.

It is a very big museum! And they lock the doors in the buildings 1 hour before closing :(. That was an unpleasant surprise... Otherwise, interesting and has picnic zones. You can join the carriage ride for extra money (only mobilepay). Perfect for family activities.

Lovely museum ️ Just a few stops from Lyngby St. There are tons of activities for families with kids but adults will most likely find it enjoyable too. You can see how the Danes lived many years ago, have a walk around the museum and feed the animals. Skansens are usually more interactive but in general it was fun.

Ethnographic museum with some pretty good attractions for kids, loved it! Not so much to eat, better to have your own food from home.

Simply just a very calming and beautiful environment. And the scenery is amazing. My kid who’s 8 who normally don’t like museums she couldn’t stop talking about It weeks after, she wanted to go back. That says a lot ️

Beautiful place that will take you centuries back in time, will take an entire day to explore this place. Must visit during sunny days, also taking kids here should be a fun thing. Includes a lot of walking on trails, so plan accordingly. Also they have certain activities planned from November to Christmas.
