“I can’t come to the final show” said one of the kids to me yesterday. “Why?”, I asked. “I am being sent back to my home country”, she replied. And I was left stunned for a moment. Not knowing how to respond. It broke my heart knowing that such a kind and intelligent young girl was sentenced to a life of disparity in the worn-torn country her family so desperately tried to escape. There is no place for her in one of the wealthiest countries in the world, even though she speaks our tongue perfectly and just wants a fair shot at life. Even though she is perfectly integrated. No, we said. You are not welcome here. Go back. We don’t care if you live or not. Today, I am deeply saddened and feel utterly powerless. What a sick society we live in. We don’t believe in sentencing someone to death. So instead we send them somewhere else, where there chances of survival are slim. We have closed our hearts to compassion. #humanlivesmatter

Well.. I will start this off by saying that you get three meals a day here. You get a bed, clothing and free transportation if it is for an official reason. There is a room with full fitness equipment on the third floor and pool tables, ping pong set up on the base floor. The reason I am going to give it three stars. You are cut off from civilization, you can develop high stress and anxiety, people have committed suicide here because of loneliness. The food is sometimes okay. They do have to make a meal to feed three hundred people so it's understandable the quality is not Chef Ramsey. Sometimes it's terrible. Some of the staff here are very nice and easy going, some of them are jerks as most places you will run into that. All in all its hard to sleep at night because most of the refugees make noise until three am.
