Demenish is a company that brings hope and increased quality of life to dementia sufferers and their families. We make tablets for dementia patients. They are pre-loaded with an app that cycles through a variety of cognitive games. This was only the surface function, however. The second is our recording of game data which is then shared to our cloud platform. The data is used to: • Create insights and feedback for our company (so we can improve our app and see which games work best) • Help family and friends of the dementia sufferer see where improvements are being made • Create a anonymised database of play statistics, which can then be shared to dementia research institutions It also provides the very real and exciting potential for machine learning and artificial intelligence - after we build up a significantly large amount of play data. Our software can begin to automatically improve itself and have a greater effect on preserving the memory of dementia sufferers. Another special feature of our tablet is it's degree of personalisation. Friends, family, and caregivers are able to upload photos and other media to our platform, where it is then downloaded to their loved one's tablet and is used in-game (e.g. as sprites for a Guess-Who style game). Demenish won the AT&T Excellence in IT award at the 2017 JA Europe Company Of The Year competition. Prior to that, they also won first place in the Danish 2017 Company Programme.
