Fantastic place at the old castle. Wonderful food and the staff was fabulous. We celebrate my aunt and uncles 69:th anniversary. We had a kind of tapas as starter and different meats as main course. As dessert there were different kind of ice cream cake. It’s a nice and old place that feels historical. If you have opportunity take a tour in the castle it’s really worth a visit!

A great museum. Goes deep in telling the life of old Danish times. Can much recommend paying for a guided, Danish tour. Only 4 stars since almost no text is in English.
An excellent day out, with lots to interest the parents and plenty for the kids to do across the whole site. I'll visit again. The only very minor downside was the guy in the Blacksmith Shop, who seemed to think it was OK to put necklaces on young girls and only then tell their parents that the necklace will cost them! They may be unpaid volunteers, but that is a bad strategy. You may also want to review the Health and Safety in the Blacksmiths (no eye protection considered, even when being shown the furnace and hammering semi-molten metal - sparks flying everywhere).
Coming to Gammel Estrup was very emotional - being surrounded by my family history. The transformation from when I came the first time is enormous. Wonderful welcoming staff and the Director personally took us round.
Nice castle and agriculture exhibits, plus a collection of 250 Danish apple sorts. Go in fall.
Good place
Jeg har besøgt Det Grønne Museum som er Danmarks nationale museum for jagten, skoven, landbruget og maden mange gange. Her finder man oplevelser og viden for hele familien. Bestemt et heldags besøg vær i meget smukke omgivelser omkring Gammel Estrup.
Humlegården mangler lidt nye skilte og en mulighed for at købe rodskud. Æblehavens skilte var ikke så lette at læse.
