Lots to see and experience! Nice to be able to walk freely within the castle. Nice restaurant by the entrance with good food and excellent service. Well worth the entrance fee.

This place is such a wonderful delight to visit. Huge gardens and a bee hut area. This place used to be so self efficient they even had their own fish volts and an ice chamber. In the actual Manor House they had a knights armor up on display and various rooms had music playing along with ambient noises to make your imagination go wild in the banquet room. It was a pleasure being here and the staff was nice and local to the area so they can tell you some of the stuff you might miss out on reading on the inforboards. Various hidden passageways in the woods around are like wandering around like Alice in wonderland. The Manor House also has a cellar that goes on for ever underneath the ground floor. We enjoyed our stay even without all the events we know they have here in the high seasons. There is a stabel with various horse carts and machines throughout history. Something to note is the lack of handicapped pathways for wheelchair access. Its stairs in the Manor House exclusively. Please do donate when you visit because the place only runs on donations and ticket sales that are about 7 dollars /100 dkk In the manor house they have sorted the floors in the centuries that are displayed and the ground floor is where you start with the 1600's private church room. Have a great stay and enjoy because we sure did.

If you want to visit an old danish castle and see what renaissance Denmark was like this is the place to go. They hold some great and interesting historic events each summer and christmas. In connecting to the moat and castle is a large agricultural museum which is also definitely worth a visit.

Handsome, double-moated manor house. Well preserved, and with well-appointed exhibits. Introduces guests to the lives of the nobility as well as to their servants. Friendly, informative, and helpful staff.
