An interesting castle ruins to visit with a history that's well worth doing a little research on before visiting. After Easter the visitor center is also open, but outside the usual season the grounds are still open for visitors. It gets really crowded in the main season.

Had the pleasure of visiting these ruins, which are the largest of its kind in Northern Europe, showing a rich history of importance and conquests and liberations - the ruins are being restored with respect and finesse keeping the ruins relevant and important.

If you're someone that likes a bit of history, then I can recommend this place. A nice ruin with small, signs explaining the history of the different sections. Nice beautiful scenary too, from the top of the ruin. Tourist guides are available, tho I didn't try them. A small restaurant is also located close to the ruins.

Sadly it was very windy for me but the castle itself was absolutely beautiful

Amazing! Maybe the only well preserved ruines of a medieval castle om the territory of Denmark. Well maintained- maintenance was ongoing on site at the day of pur visit. It is ime of the windiest spots on Bornholm so an extra thick jacket and a hat might be considered. It is not impossible to have a stroller with you on the paths of the castle. Easy walk from the paid parking (30dkk for 6h). There is a bit expensive cafeteria just outside the castle. We met a lot of sheep eating freely in the vicinity of the ruines. Very peaceful place and highly recommended for first timers on Bornholm.

A castle ruin with a lot of history of Bornholm and some spectacular views. The ruin itself gives an impression of the former greatness of the place and from information signs you are able to read about the story and the former usage of the different buildings. The information signs in general is quit long and with kids you come to a point where you try to avoid the signs - it would be nice with a short summary for to get the key information from.

Must see when visiting Bornholm. Beautiful old historical ruin nestled on top of one of the highest points of the island. Fantastic view from the top!

Very nice place in Bornholm. Parking 30 DKK per day. Google takes to some closed road, so fallow the signs for parking. Entrance free of charge. All the information is in Danish language, so please read about it before. Only ruins and the nature (no museum) and lovely coffee place with unforgettable view.
