Worst restaurant experience ever. The waiter was rude and the place was dirty. Far too expensive compared to everything else. Stay away.

Really good and cheap food!
We’ve eaten at Mad Konsulatet a few times - it is always great! Many restaurants in Aarhus are doing this “3 meals for 120-160 KR” kind of deal, but most of them are serving bland unoriginal food. MadKonsulatet is different - the food at MadKonsulatet is always fantastic. It is generally French countryside cuisine with a twist, and it is very good. We’ve had braised calf, various variations of homemade icecream with crumbles, cakes and puddings and various soups as well. Everything looks great, has a fair price and most important of all - it is flavorful! Today we had their fish and chips. At 65 DKK it is a steal. At 100, it would’ve been fair. It was fresh made and hot off the fryer - and along with a glass of Pilsner, or a Hancock Cola, a fantastic meal! So many restaurants are serving tasteless food - not this one. MadKonsulatet absolutely gets my recommendation! A little pearl in the center of Aarhus.
The owner said everything was 50 % off because of an newspaper article. The place was always full and the food looked good so we stayed. He was very nice in the beginning but his behaviour changed fast and he got agressive. We had to wait more than one hour and they also forgot some of our food. Our food on the menue was 110 for two persons and we had two beer each. When we paid he wanted more than 400; so 300 for 2 small and 2 big beers. Tourists should not go there. The owner is an A....hole
The taste of the food is spectacular!! And they have a great take away service!
Had some amazing food in a great spot! The menu constantly changes but the beef we had was perfect and full of flavour
The same totally psyco.. egyptian guy who was running a place in Jægergaardsgade a year or so back - when they were forced to close.
Very food value for money, overly Happy chef and staff, good food and a cosy environment! Would definately recommend !
